For restaurants, cafés and kitchens
The apps rent you back customers you already had.
Ordering on your own site. You keep the whole ticket.
A regular who has eaten with you for years opens an app, orders your food, and a slice of that ticket leaves your kitchen. Worse, their name and number stay with the app — so the next time there is a promotion, it is not yours they see.
How it usually goes
6:41pm
A regular opens the app instead of calling you.
6:42pm
Orders the same thing she’s ordered for three years.
6:43pm
A slice of that ticket leaves your kitchen — and her name and number stay with the app, not with you.
Next time there’s a promotion, it isn’t yours she sees.

Where it leaks
Four things I see again and again.
Not a list of everything that could be better — the four that actually cost this trade money.
01
The menu is a photo
If your menu is a picture or a PDF, Google can’t read it and neither can a phone. People decide somewhere else.
02
No way to order direct
Even the regulars end up on an app, because that’s the only route you gave them.
03
Hours nobody trusts
“Open now” wrong once and they stop checking. That’s the question every hungry person is actually asking.
04
Reviews going unanswered
A quiet review page reads as a quiet kitchen — and it’s one of the biggest levers on the map pack.
Where I’d start
Ordering from your own site
Straight to the kitchen screen like any other ticket, no commission taken, and the customer’s details stay with you. Most kitchens keep the apps for people who don’t know them yet and move the regulars to the direct link — that’s where the margin is.
How online ordering works →And after that
The rest of the toolbox, when it fits.
One partner for the whole thing rather than five vendors — but only the parts that earn their place. And I work with one business per category in Klamath Falls, so I’m not building this for your competitor next month.
POS integration

FAQ
Answered straight.
Do I have to drop the delivery apps?
No, and most don’t. Keep them for people who’ve never heard of you — that’s discovery, and it’s worth paying for. The move is sending everyone who already knows you to the direct link, where there’s no cut.
Will orders reach the kitchen properly?
If you’re on Clover, Square or Toast they land on the kitchen screen the same as any other ticket. Some cheaper plans lock that behind an upgrade — I check that before you pay me anything.
What about the menu changing all the time?
You change it from your phone. One menu, and the website and the ordering page both follow it.
